Seminars/Conferences & Retreats

Purpose: In addition to providing Christ-centered residential care, discipleship, and education for troubled youth, The Fold Family Ministries provides help through Conferences, Seminars, and Special Retreats (e.g. Marriage Retreats). The main purpose of this ministry is to train and encourage individuals, couples, and families by equipping them with Biblical truth for effective problem solving and ministry (outreach to others). This involves learning to communicate the message of the cross and exercise God’s grace and forgiveness in family and interpersonal relationships. The training also provides opportunity for healing to begin for those participants who may be confronting wounded relationships of their own. The focus of each session is upon discovering God’s plan for victory and success through the truths of Scripture “that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work” (II Timothy 3:17).

Emphasis: Specific emphasis is given to sharing the message of Christ’s sufficiency for Believers and the power of identification with Christ in His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and seating in heavenly places. This truth is often referred to as the “Grace Life” or the “Exchanged Life” which is Christ’s Life in exchange for our life as taught in Galatians 2:20, Romans 5-8, and Colossians 3.

This conference is understandably in great demand. The teaching is designed to 1) Challenge and encourage those who are hungering for intimacy with God, and 2) Offer help and encouragement to those who are wrestling with emotional struggles, marital difficulties, destructive habitual sins, parenting problems, and spiritual strongholds. Participants will discover how and why they have developed patterns of “coping” with (as opposed to resolving) the dilemmas and issues of life and how they may successfully face them through a personal appropriation of Christ as Life. (This conference is generally offered in either a two or three-day format.)

 

©Caring for Youth in Conflict (series)

For parents, teachers, and youth workers on a series of topics encompassing the “Storms” (struggles, needs, and issues) facing today’s youth and their families. Topics such as depression, behavioral and learning problems (e.g. ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attachment Disorder, eating disorders, and others), parent-teen relationships (including ways to understand each other), the “cycle” of growth, “renewing the mind,” the role of temperament in relationships, creating an effective “action plan,” and others. All topics are presented from a Biblical and Christ-centered foundation using PowerPoint and other media for optimal effect.
(Note: These seminars may be “tailored” from the above topics to the specific interests and needs of churches and other groups. They are also offered in conference and one and two-day and retreat formats.)
