Organization Status:
Founded and Incorporated as a not-for-profit charitable organization in 1967.

Governing Body:
Board of directors.

Status With Internal Revenue Service:
Tax exempt under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Federal ID. # 03-0221341.
The Fold is not a private foundation as described in section 509 (a) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Licensed by the State of Vermont as a "Residential Child Care Facility."

Additional Ministry Facts

The Fold program, including our private school, operates year-round.
Students may graduate The Fold’s school with a high school diploma.
The Fold receives approximately 50 to 70 calls for help and counseling each month from parents and teens themselves.
Counselors, pastors, and other organizations refer children and families to The Fold.

Staff

The Fold has 25 full-time staff members including home, counseling, teaching, office, and maintenance personnel. Our live-in residential counseling and discipleship staff ratio is approximately one staff for every three teens. All staff participates in ongoing counseling & discipleship training sponsored by The Fold. Service opportunities include staff (career and short-term), internships, summer volunteer and special projects (several days and longer), and serving on the Board of Directors.

Finances

The Fold is tax exempt under 501 (c) (3) of the IRS code. The Fold has a scholarship fund for memorial or major gifts to help sponsor teens from financially destitute families. The Fold qualifies for matching grants through employee gift programs.

Conferences & Seminars

Having a child at The Fold is not required in order to attend special parent seminars offered at our conference and retreat center. In addition to The Fold’s ©GraceLife Conferences, The Fold provides teaching at our conference center and in churches on a variety of subjects including: Caring For Youth In Conflict, Discovering Your Gifts for Ministry, Marriage Enrichment, Emotional Healing, Understanding Your God-given Temperament, and other specialized topics.
