JOIN OUR STAFF MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

The Lord is using the ministry of The Fold to bring healing and hope to the young people and families we serve. We would love to consider with you how God might desire to use you as part of our team. Serving at The Fold is in an exciting and challenging time of personal growth and there are many opportunities for people to use the gifts and experience God has blessed them with. Our ministry is an excellent place for you to begin a career in ministry, or invest yourself for a “season of service.” We are committed to ongoing training and development for our staff, providing opportunities for growth that will both challenge your mind and nurture your heart and soul. We understand the demands of full time ministry and we strive diligently to create and environment that encourages personal balance and spiritual enrichment. We offer many opportunities to cross train, and seek to develop each team member in all areas of their lives.

Is God calling you into full-time ministry?

Do you have a passion to see young people find hope and healing through a relationship with Jesus Christ? If the answer to those questions is YES, then we invite you to look over the different staff positions listed below and then fill out an application to share about yourself and the vision God has given you for serving Him. If you have questions or want more information, please call 802-626-5620 or e-mail us at: app@thefoldinc.org

Following are ministry positions that we currently fill.

Residential Staff

Serve the Lord as part of an effective Christ-centered team, sharing the love of God with our residents, helping them to begin and develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In coordination with the Counseling staff, the residential team assists each young person through an individualized plan that promotes emotional healing and encourages spiritual growth, while developing real life problem solving skills. Our residential staff live right in the Home and the daily routine and responsibilities of Home life, as well as School, Church, and various social activities, provide the setting for your ministry. Sharing the love of Christ with the young people is always a privilege and an adventure in faith that will challenge you and give God opportunities to use your gifts, strengths, and even weaknesses to reach others with His love. Residential staff positions include House Parents and Resident Instructors.

Internship

A basic short-term apprenticeship designed to provide experience and exposure to our unique model of residential discipleship ministry. The intern is immersed into life in the Home, shadowing our full time staff, participating in the daily routine, and involved in staff meetings and training. Internships are designed to last between 6-8 weeks and are an excellent opportunity for students to fulfill their field service requirements and gain valuable experience. Internships can occur at any time during the year. It is not a paid position but room and board is provided. Historically, the intern program has been an effective stepping stone leading to a full time position with the ministry.

Teacher

Along with our discipleship program in the Homes, The Fold also provides a complete educational program through our school, Cornerstone Christian School. The school serves only the residents in the ministry, and the teacher to student ratio averages 1:5. Many of our young people arrive at the ministry behind in their studies and often struggle with various learning disabilities. They need lots of personal attention and so we utilize a home school curriculum that allows us to create individualized programs for each student and optimize the opportunities for academic achievement and development. Along with basic school responsibilities, our teachers are also trained in the same Christ-centered discipleship principles as our residential staff. Teaching at The Fold is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys a tutoring and mentoring environment. A teaching certificate is a definite asset but is not necessary. The curriculum is recognized by the state of Vermont and we are able to graduate students with a high school diploma.

Leadership, Support, and Administrative Opportunities

In addition to the basic roles of Residential Staff and Teacher, The Fold also offers many opportunities in leadership, ministry support, and administration. Leadership roles require a certain level of experience and education. Positions include Program Director, Counselor, Teaching Principal of our school, and Family Care Coordinator(focused on parent support while a child is in the program). Support roles require certain basic skills and work experience and include positions such as facilities maintenance. Opportunities in administration include Admissions Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, Bookkeeping, and PR/Communications.
